Virginia Writer, Actor, Director, Filmmaker, Producer, Novelist, Khari Ajene, completed his seventh film which was Premiered at the Grace Street Theatre Decenber 13, 2003. BET (Black Entertainment Television) received word that a young, blackman from Richmond, Virginia by the name of, Khari Ajene, had both independently, created his own website and recently completed his first feature film. After further investigation, BET later learned, Khari had not only single-handedly authored the entire screenplay, but also stars as the leading man. In addition, this multi-talented young man wrote, produced, and performed all of the beautiful songs, which ever soeloquently, narrated the film. BET, formally introduced Khari, in an article on BET.com.

That's how it all started, a man with a dream, that was turned into a featured film. It's now 2004, and Khari brings to his fans and newbies, Jasmine's Rain, his fourth Production for 2003. That's right, he did four featured lenght films, in less than a year. Refuge, The Desire, Faded Into Blue, and now Jasmine's Rain.

Jasmine's Rain stars Khari Ajene, as middle-class man turned thug moving himself out of the world of high crimes. Francesca also stars as his love, and the one who seeks retribution for his murder. Mikki Spencer the host of the Virginia Lottery joins the Cast, as Officer Davis. The Jas Cast is 90% Richmond Artist. Lindsay Hawkins, who was also in Faded Into Blue, returns as Jody, Jasmine’s side kick. Julia Jefferson was in Refuge and The Desire. Eli Harris has been in five Ajene Films, 4 from 2003 and FEVER from 2002. Other Cast members include; Latisha Horsford, Tashawnda Green, Justin Russell, Corey Mercer, Terry Holden and Elizabeth Brinkley.

Khari was born and resides in Richmond, Virginia, a city known for it's historic reputation, as well as its notarized beauty.

I think Daniel Newman with the Richmond Times Dispatch said it best and I quote: What he is known for: Filmmaker. What does he do on theses movies: Everything. He is writer, director, producer and star.

Khari was born here in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up in several areas including Church Hill, North and Southside. He performed in serval bands and has produced at least 50 songs which he wrote all lyrics, played all instruments and performed all vocals.

Khari has also published 2 books; The Broken Chain and The Club.

It's all movie making for Khari right now, but space travel is his other option.

This guy won't be stopped, as his quest continues to leave his mark upon this rock. I'm not sure what the quest thing is all about, but maybe he will do a movie about it one day. Look out for Khari Ajene in futurefilms. With this guy, he has no limit! Please contact us for an Interview. Thanks!
